Panasonic Ships 16 x 9 Three-Chip DLP Projector
December 14, 2004
Secaucus, NJ - Panasonic is delivering the PT-DW7000U, its native 16 x 9 three-chip large venue DLP projector.
The PT-DW7000U combines 6,000 lumens of brightness, 1366 x 768 WXGA resolution, and theater-quality 4000:1 contrast ratio with Panasonic’s exclusive Dynamic Iris, the company describes. The native 16 x 9 projector combines XGA graphics and high definition video on one screen.
Panasonic’s exclusive Dynamic Iris technology quickly fine tunes the lamp output with exceptional speed and 256-step precision, resulting in highly accurate, real-time control of the light striking the DMD chips.
The Dynamic Iris teams with Dynamic Gamma correction to increase a picture’s highlights so that the blacks get blacker and the bright areas remain bright. In addition, Its Dynamic Sharpness control increases image sharpness
without adding noise.
The PT-DW7000U is equipped with high-speed digital signal processing (with 16-bit color depth for wider dynamic range and more film-like images) and progressive cinema scan (3/2 pull down) capabilities which combine to produce rich, detailed blacks and to masterfully reproduce 24 frames-per-second film-based video. The projector offers a built-in multi-screen color matching and edge blending for displaying uniform, natural-looking, full-motion images over a wide span without any discernible lines between overlapping blended images.
The PT-DW7000U weighs 48 lbs., and measures 20-7/8” W x 7-7/8” H x 22-13/32 D.
The PT-DW7000U is available at suggested list price of $25,000.
