Wired Introduces MediaPress LE

Mountain View, CA - Wired has announced immediate availability of its new MediaPress LE real-time MPEG encoding card for Macintosh.
MediaPress LE is geared for video facilities working with analog sources like Betacam or VHS, and offers component, s-video and composite video inputs, along with analog stereo audio inputs.
The MediaPress LE (pictured) is a true pro-quality real-time encoder, the manufacturer describes, and also features:
-Built for Mac OS X and compatible with Power Mac G4 or G5 computers;
-MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 real-time encoding, VBR or CBR;
-Component, s-video and composite video inputs;
-Analog stereo audio inputs (upgradeable to balanced with optional BUB Box);
-Real-time preview before, during and after encoding;
-Precision hardware preview to standard monitors available through the optional Mason HD.
The Mason HD is a professional MPEG decoder and playback card for the Macintosh. Designed for the most demanding applications, Mason HD allows you to decode and preview MPEG streams to an external SD or HD monitor via s-video, component or DVI outputs. The Mason HD can decode MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 streams at bitrates up to 45 mbps. The Mason HD will be available in the first quarter of 2005. Pricing and configuration options will be announced in January.
