BongoTies Available in Electronic, Retail Outlets
November 09, 2004
Agoura Hills, CA - BongoTies, a special fastener designed to tame unruly video, audio and computer cables, as well as power and extension cords, are now available through consumer elecetronics and retial outlets.
BongoTies consist of a heavy guage rubber band attached to a patented wooden "Bongo" closure pin. The distinctive, flared-end Bongo pin is designed to provide a superior button-type closure. Indented ends assure easy fastening and removal, the manufacturer describes. BongoTies are available in natural wood finish with black rubber; they are approximately five inches long, but expand to 24 inches.
BongoTies are produced by engineer/photographer Tim Petros, principle of Gyroscope Interactive Photography, a provider of quality virtual tours and 3-D interactive objects (www.gyrovr.com). "I initially designed BongoTies for use in my own commercial photo studio. I needed something more effective than the existing solutions, like messy tape, or velcro straps that get wadded up and gather dirt and lint. I also noticed some of the gaffers (electricians) working on Hollywood sets using ponytail ties to manage wires and cables; BongoTies are a design improvement on this basic concept."
BongoTies are available at numerous professional photo, sound, and audio-visual outlets nationally, priced around $5.00 for a bag of ten.
