Formac Unveils New LCD Line
October 20, 2004
Berkeley, CA - Formac Electronic's new Gallery Xtreme LCD line, available with 19.0" or 20.1" viewable screen and incorporating Formac's 4th generation ColorProof VA TFT, is now avilable, the company announced.
Key benefits of the new TFT technology are considerable performance increases in brightness (300 cd/m2), contrast ratio (700:1) and pixel response (15ms). In combination with Formac's proprietary digital graphics and conical viewing angle technology the new displays can be calibrated accurately for use in color-critical applications.
Like its predecessor the new Gallery Xtreme is targeted at the creative professional working in color-critical applications. Both display versions incorporate the 4th generation of Formac's ColorProof VA TFT with industry-leading values for brightness (300 cd/m2 for the 20.1", 280 cd/m2 for the 19") and contrast ratio (700:1), the key specification determining a display's color gamut. To ensure accurate color calibration the Gallery Xtreme features Formac's AllRound conical viewing technology that delivers consistent color information to the calibration device from any angle.
Selling at $599 (19") and $899 (20.1"), the new display line closes the price gap in the Apple display market, evident through the discontinuation of the Apple Studio 17" display. Both displays are strictly digital and come with DVI or Apple Display Connector (ADC).
