VCON Offers 30-Day High-Definition Desktop Videoconferencing Software Trial
October 01, 2004
Austin, TX - VCON is offering a free 30-day trial of vPoint HD, its new software client for personal videoconferencing with high quality audio and video streaming.
vPoint HD supports data rates up to 1.5Mbps. It operates with a standard USB web-cam, and needs a minimum Pentium III 1Ghz processor with hyper-threading capability; Windows 2000 and XP are supported.
In addition to standard desktop videoconferencing, the system offers additional features, the company describes, such as VCON's HD DualStream technology, allowing users to send and receive video+data streams from the desktop, and to share any file on their PC with the other conference participants. Also, vMail allows users to send video email or record personal video clips.
VCON started offering trial versions of its software with the VCON Media Xchange Manager (MXM), launched in 2001, and has since made many of its products available for customers to demo at no cost. These include the VCON MXM, VCON IPNexus instant messaging application, VCON Conference Bridge, VCON Conference Moderator, and now the vPoint HD desktop conferencing application. Having access to a free 30-day trial period before purchasing these products is important for organizations looking to test VCON’s solutions with their networks, employees and customers.
After the 30-day trial, users can purchase a USB authentication key and continue using the conferencing software without having to reinstall. When sold in conjunction with the VCON MXM, vPoint HD seats are free of charge.
