ProMax SATAMAXe Storage Systems Now Available

Irvine, CA - ProMax Systems is delivering its new cost-effective external serial ATA (SATA) storage solutions for Macintosh and Windows computers, the SATAMAXe-XL and SATAMAXe-HD.
The SATAMAXe-XL systems (ProMax External 500GB SATA Array pictured) support up to five streams of real-time, eight-bit standard definition playback on compatible systems, and are compatible with solutions such as the AJA Io, LA, and LD full access to the necessary bandwidth via FireWire ports, the company describes.
Incorporating new hard drive and host bus chip technology, the SATAMAXe-XL system includes three or five removable drives that can be striped as RAID-XL to serve DV, DVCAM and standard definition video. XL RAID provides parity protection for data if a drive fails. The SATAMAXe-HD brings RAID Level 0 performance with three hours of 10 bit uncompressed HD video in a system with 1.8 TB of usable storage.
