Adobe Announces Plug-in for HDV Format in Premiere Pro
September 10, 2004
San Jose, CA - Adobe Systems announced an expansion of its IEEE-1394 support, with the addition of a HDV plug-in for Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 video editing software.
Available later this year, the plug-in works with the next generation of HDV cameras, such as Sony's HDR-FX1. Using Adobe Premiere Pro, in conjunction with new HDV cameras, video professionals will be able to quickly and easily capture, edit in real-time, and output broadcast-quality high-definition video, the company reports.
Adobe Premiere Pro supports editing in DV, SD, HD and now HDV formats, giving editors unrivaled flexibility. The real-time editing performance in Adobe Premiere Pro now extends to high-definition video with this new HDV plug-in. Using the same IEEE-1394 (Firewire) connector natively supported in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, this plug-in provides direct HDV device control and video capture without the need for additional hardware. As HD digital projection and streaming media uses continue to grow, independent filmmakers, corporate videographers, broadcast and news editors can easily distribute HD files directly in the Windows Media format.
Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 is a core application in the Adobe Video Collection 2.5, which includes the latest versions of After Effects, Audition, and Encore DVD software. The professional version also includes Photoshop CS software.
Registered Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 customers will be able to download the HDV plug-in later this year.
