Nettetal, Germany - Terratec's Cameo 400 AV mobile is available to input and edit videos from various sources on a laptop PC.
The package consists of a hardware card for connecting devices such as a DVD player, DV camcorder or satellite receiver, and a software bundle for managing and editing video.
The Cameo 400 AV mobile (pictured) is a Type II PC Card that offers composite and S-Video inputs, as well as stereo-in connectors; there is no digital audio-in support. The Cameo 400 AV mobile converts video signals into MPEG 1/2 format without undue CPU loads, according to Terratec.
Terratec's Cameo 400 AV mobile application can be used to record and playback MPEG video in a variety of formats and resolutions, and Ulead Systems' VideoStudio 7 SE and MovieFactory 2 provides more tools for recording and editing DVDs. A software plug-in is also supplied to store video on hard disk before backing it up to DVD.
Minimum system requirements include a 800MHz or faster processor, running Windows 200 or XP, weith at least 128MB of RAM. A DVD burner is needed to create DVDs.
The Cameo 400 is priced at £140, or approximately $250 USD.
