CBPaint Turns Casablanca Video Editor into Fully-featured Graphics Workstation
August 16, 2004
Boulder, CO - MacroSystem Digital Video announced CBPaint, its new software solution for creating graphics, backgrounds, timeline-based animations and effects.
The software interfaces directly with the standard Casablanca SMART EDIT software, facilitating the importation and exportation of pictures and video sequences. Highlights of CBPaint include real-time pixel-accurate video paint, layer-based animation, layer manipulation and multiple color and image correction tools and effects, the company describes.
The package contains a high-quality Wacom graphics tablet and a software program with multiple drawing functions, filters, style and color tools, a timeline for building sequences, and a logically structured user interface. Editors can also create their own graphics with CBPaint. If the standard CB Paint package is preferred, the Wacom tablet provides the drawing surface. By purchasing the optional touch VGA display, however, one draws directly on the screen while a second video monitor displays the video footage through a regular television screen.
CBPaint also includes natural-media drawing tools like airbrushes, penbrushes and pencils that can be combined with such video effects as light, keying, special-fx, motion tracking, and picture-in-picture. It also offers artistic tools including video paint, auto-paint, stop motion, volumetric light, image/color corrections, pixel tracking and transitions.
