Canopus Supports Real-time HDV Editing with EDIUS

San Jose, CA - Canopus will support the new HDV format with its EDIUS for HDV720P nonlinear editing solution.
EDIUS for HDV720P brings the real-time editing capabilities of EDIUS to the HDV format, providing support for direct capture of footage from JVC’s line of HDV digital camcorders, as well as real-time, multi-track native HDV editing, the company describes.
Canopus ’s ProCoder 2.0 transcoding software is included with EDIUS for HDV720P to provide direct timeline output of native HDV files, as well as output to all popular video formats, making this a truly comprehensive solution for HDV editors.
EDIUS for HDV720P builds on the foundation of EDIUS 2.5 with real-time, multi-format, multi-track editing. EDIUS for HDV720P features HDV, as well as MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 editing and support for OHCI-compliant FireWire hardware. For the first time, editors can seamlessly edit and mix HDV, DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and uncompressed video with true real-time, render-free operation.
EDIUS for HDV720P streamlines DVD-Video production by allowing editors to work in MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format for real-time editing, effects compositing, keying, transitions and titles. Canopus ’s MPEG codec technology maintains the highest picture quality during every stage of the production process. EDIUS for HDV720P includes Inscriber TitleMotion Pro for Canopus for creating superior graphics, video titles and motion effects.
EDIUS for HDV720P also features DVD-Video authoring directly from the timeline with full chapter point support.
