Azden Adds High-Performance Shotgun
July 08, 2004
Franklin Square, NY - Azden Corporation's new high-performance shotgun microphone, the SGM-1000, is available for purchase.
Introduced at NAB, the super-cardioid condenser microphone comes with a windscreen and unique shockmount holder with integrated shoe-mount.
Designed for video and audio professionals, the SGM-1000 is a highly directional shotgun microphone with a wide frequency response and low noise levels, the manufacturer reports. The SGM-1000 can be powered by external phantom power or a single AA battery.
The 12.2" (310mm) long microphone features a switchable low-frequency roll-off filter to reduce proximity effects and low-frequency room noises such as air conditioners, a Power On/Off switch and an industry standard low-impedance XLR connector. The SGM-1000 can be powered by either externally supplied phantom power (12-48V) or an internally mounted single “AA” alkaline battery. Special circuitry automatically disconnects the internal battery when phantom power is applied.
Produced with a scratch-resistant matte black finish, the SGM-1000 is supplied with a foam windscreen for noise suppression and a special floating shock-mount adaptor with an integral hot-shoe mount.
The SGM-1000 has an $350 MSRP, with street prices around $250.00.
