VBrick Systems Introduces Portable Video Encoder
July 01, 2004
Wallingford, CT - VBrick Systems introduced the VBrick Security, Surveillance and Monitoring (VBSSM) appliance, a rugged, cost-effective MPEG-2 encoder.
Compact and able to withstand temperatures ranging from -20 to 70°C, the VBSSM provides reliable DVD-quality video, perfect for critical monitoring and surveillance where full-motion high quality video are required.
The VBSSM encoder accepts NTSC/PAL video from standard surveillance cameras, compresses it in real-time and transmits it digitally over an IP network, the company reports. Video can be displayed on TV monitors using numerous MPEG-2 decoders, set top boxes and on PCs through desktop decoder software, such as VBrick’s StreamPlayer.
Expanded Capabilities
The VBSSM is network-ready and can be combined with a host of software and hardware platforms, such as VBrick’s EtherneTV-Media Distribution System. The VBrick EtherneTV-Media Distribution System is comprised of a set of unique, best-in-class products that are seamlessly integrated to provide a flexible, easy to use video management system.
With the simple to use interface, personnel can view any video source with click of a mouse or by pointing a remote control at a set-top-box on a TV. EtherneTV also allows the user to record any video stream directly to the NXG video on demand server for later review.
