Panasonic Announces New Projectors

Atlanta, GA - Panasonic is adding several new projectors to its line-up, including portable high output XGA models, as well as single and three chip DLP units.
The new PT-L785, a 13-pound XGA LCD projector delivers high brightness pictures, text and graphics for computer and video applications in classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, church halls and other mid-to-large venues, the company describes. The PT-L785 offers 3200 lumens of brightness, a 500:1 contrast ratio, and displays vibrant images (in 16.7 million colors) in true 1024 X 768 XGA resolution.
The PT-L785 offers a wide range of interface capabilities including three RGB inputs; 24-pin DVI-D, S-Video and composite video inputs; it has a powered zoom/focus lens, one-touch auto setup and horizontal and vertical digital keystone correction. The HDTV-ready projector automatically synchronizes to display 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video, and supports most worldwide video standards, including NTSC, PAL and SECAM.
Panasonic also announced the PT-D5500U and PT-D5500UL, one-chip mid-to-large venue DLP projectors rated over 4,500 lumens.
The projectors offer a full array of inputs, including DVI, two computer (RGB) and three video (component, composite and S-Video). In addition, the PT-D5500s has a wired LAN connector, RS-232C and external remote terminals. The PT-D5500U and PT-D5500UL are equipped with a high-contrast, one-chip DLP Texas Instrument The PT-D5500U/UL display visually-stunning, uniformed colors and ultra-crisp images in 1024 x 768 XGA resolution.
Panasonic's widescreen PT-DW7000U and high-resolution PT-D7700 three-chip large venue DLP projectors are suited for fixed installations and public display venues. The native 16:9 PT-DW7000U offers a versatile presentation style where XGA graphics and high definition video can be combined on one screen, it offers more than 5,000 lumens of brightness and a 1366 x 768 WXGA resolution. The PT-D7000U produces 7000 lumens of brightness and a 1400 x 1050 SXGA+ resolution. In addition to a wide range of standard inputs (two RGB/YPbPr, S-video and composite video), optional input boards include HD-SDI, SD-SDI, RGB/YPbPr, DVI, Ethernet, and video/S-Video.
The PT-DW7000U and PT-D7700 will be available in November. The PT-D5500U and PT-D5500UL will be available in September.
The PT-L785 is available in August at a suggested list price of $5,999.
