Wichita, KS - WiebeTech is shipping its new Quad BayDock 800, a four-drive, hot swappable FireWire 800 / USB2 storage enclosure.
Quad BayDock 800 features removable bays and sustained transfer rates over 100MB/sec when RAIDed, providing the highest performance available in any shipping FireWire product, the manufacturer states. The product is targeted at multimedia professionals who want extremely high performance swappable storage at a relatively low cost.
Quad BayDock 800 features latest Oxford firmware and is fully compatible with all recent operating systems, including Panther (OS X 10.3.1), OS 9.1, OS 9.2, Windows 98SE, ME, 2K, and XP and Linux. FireWire 800 usage requires OS X or Windows XP.
Quad BayDock 800 with no drives is priced at $899.95 USD; other pricing depends on configuration. The Quad BayDock 800 with four 250 GB 7200 RPM drives is $1899.95.
