Sharp Selects Kopin's CyberDisplay Viewfinder for New Camcorders

Taunton, MA - Kopin Corp., a manufacturer of microdisplays for portable communications applications, has added Sharp Electronics Corporation to its CyberDisplay customer base.
Sharp is integrating Kopin's color filter 0.16-inch (diagonal) CyberDisplay-equipped electronic viewfinder system, the CyberEVF(TM) 113K, into two new Digital Viewcam camcorders, models VL-Z900-T and VL-Z2300-W. These models are available in stores now.
As small as a grain of rice, the CyberDisplay 113K is the smallest liquid crystal display in the world, the manufacturer describes, with an active resolution of 521 x 218, or about 113,000 pixels. The CyberDisplay 113K delivers bright, clear images for camcorder and digital camera viewfinders and head-mounted displays for personal entertainment devices.
