in-sync Intros new Digital Fusion workstations

Bethesda, MD - in-sync is shipping beta versions of its new line of workstations for uncompressed SD or HD output and pristine picture quality in a certified and tested workstation.The public release date is currently scheduled for May 2004, the company announced.
The in-sync standard definition Digital Fusion workstation lets users::
·output any still image or video file that Digital Fusion can read to the SDI output
·preview an effect on a file
·read files in the VLoki file format (an optimized uncompressed 10 bit YUV, 8 bit YUV or RGBA format)
·write files in the VLoki format
·synchronize to an external video source (house sync) or from its own sync
·read VThor (HD uncompressed) files and output them to SDI (by pan and scanning or scaling them)
·works in NTSC or PAL
With an in-sync high definition Digital Fusion workstation, you can:
·output any still image or video file that Digital Fusion can read to the HD SDI output
·Preview an effect on a file
·read files in the VThor file format (an optimized uncompressed 10 bit YUV or 8 bit YUV format)
·write files in the VThor format
·synchronize to an external video source (house sync) or from its own sync
·read VLoki (SD uncompressed) files and upscale them to HD resolution
·supports output at the following resolutions and frame rates 720p at 59.94 fps and 60 fps, 1080i at 25 fps, 29.97 and 30 fps, 1080p at 23.98 fps (and 23.98 fps sf), 24 fps (and 24fps sf), 25 fps, 29.97 and 30 fps
Someone who already owns a license of Digital Fusion software can get into an in-sync workstation with uncompressed I/O, Digital Fusion support, and 1.2 Terabytes of internal storage in a Dual Xeon PC for $10,999.
People who do not currently own Digital Fusion can take advantage of workstation bundles in either SD or HD configurations complete with Digital Fusion and Speed Razor nonlinear editing and compositing software (which adds batch capture and Print To Tape capabilities), the company described.
Digital Fusion workstations mark an extension of new software support from the Thor and Loki product lines, showing once again new and innovative products emanating from in-sync's high end OEM hardware platforms. As in-sync moves further in the OEM direction, customers will see more products that are intensely useful and usable based on the companies desire to create a suite of stable production 'facility' type products that compliment the Speed Razor family of software products.
