April 20, 2004
Las Vegas, NV - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. and Apple Computer Inc. plan to market a digital video editing system linking Apple's Mac computers and software to a soon-to-be-released Matsushita video recorder, according to industry reports.
Quoting a spokesman for Matsushita, known for its Panasonic brand, reports says the high definition package, comprising the VCR, PC and editing software with text and video and digital animation, is expected to cost less than 4 million yen (US$37,000).
The system is described as recording onto SD Cards instead of videotape, with the advantage of fast data transfer of recorded data to PC, according to newspaper reports based on Associated Press and DowJones NewsWire.
