New ViewCast Streaming Card Combines Analog and Digital Video Capture
April 20, 2004
Las Vegas, NV - ViewCast Corporation launched Osprey-300, a video capture card for both streaming and nonlineader editing applications.
The IEEE 1394b card features full device control capability, and is the first ViewCast capture card to be certified for Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe's award-winning nonlinear editing software.
Building upon the video streaming capabilities and high-performance features of the Osprey-230, the Osprey-300 adds OHCI compliancy (IEEE 1394) for video capture, the company desribes. The Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) compliant IEEE 1394 standard allows users to transfer DV material into an editing system in its native DV format while maintaining original source quality and optimizing the workflow for post-production houses. The PCI-X bus interface provides compatibility with the latest PC technologies, delivering high-performance, high-bandwidth data transfers.
In addition to the launching Osprey-300 and its certification for Adobe Premiere Pro, ViewCast is being certified for the release version of Premiere Pro 1.5, also announced at NAB.
The Osprey 300 is priced under $500.
