Somerville, MA - 1 Beyond, Inc. has announced the new 1 Beyond HD Pro workstation, calling it a powerful yet affordable HD digital nonlinear editing system designed to offer editors HD editing online, all the time.
The 1 Beyond HD Pro editing workstation, offers affordable 10 bit uncompressed HD editing and compositing as well as real time HDV, SD and DV native formats.
Thanks to multiple fast internal buses and a unique storage system called HotRock the 1 Beyond HD Pro workstation offers the exact same smooth response and user experience when working at full resolution uncompressed HD as when handling less demanding formats such as DV or SD, the company describes.
For just $3.90 per GB, the 1 Beyond HotRock (Hot performance/Rock solid) internal removable storage system offers up to 12.5 hours of 1080i (7.5TB) video, and an overall system performance of over 400 MB/s of sustained data rate with Raid 3 protection.
The HD Pro Workstation includes a number of other unique optional features:
1 Beyond Digital Video Transpor: One of the remaining cost issues of editing in HD is the prohibitive cost of HD decks. Thanks to the Digital Video Transport option, users can load HD (or SD) footage without the need for an HD deck using a 1 Beyond Video Transfer Center. It also allows projects to be quickly backed-up or archived, and rough cuts from a remote shoot to be encrypted, sent and viewed remotely.
1 Beyond Silent Partner: A remote system operation option that is designed to offer a totally quiet workspace to reduce editor fatigue and even allow live voice-overs without having to go to a separate sound room. While the necessary (and quiet) devices are located in the workspace, the system and disks can be located remotely (up to 64 feet away) with no quality degradation.
1 Beyond Bullet Proof: An automated protection option that is unique to 1 Beyond systems. 1 Beyond Bullet Proof automatically runs diagnostic software to predict and avoid the most common video related system failures, thereby avoiding unnecessary lost time and data. It can also send pertinent diagnostic information to the 1 Beyond support center for analysis.
The HD Pro workstation is entirely based on open standards, features Adobe Premiere Pro, has multiple capture card options and is easily upgradeable. It’s fully integrated with the rest of the 1 Beyond HD product line including: 1 Beyond’s Harmony, a shared SAN for sharing data and projects among several workstations, 1 Beyond’s Redline Render Farm, for graphics rendering efficiency and productivity, 1 Beyond’s high performance laptops for compatible offline editing or HD projection and 1 Beyond’s AirBrush for on air graphics painting.
