Pinnacle Systems Unveils Practical HD
April 16, 2004
Mountain View, CA - Pinnacle Systems, Inc. will introduce Liquid HD, an HD option for its Pinnacle Liquid editing application, at NAB, the company has announced.
Pinnacle Liquid HD provides an affordable entry to HD editing that combines excellent quality with flexible operating modes. Users get the best of all HD worlds: they can select to work with low bandwidth HDV, high quality compressed HD or the fuller quality of uncompressed HD -- all on a standard workstation. By using Pinnacle's innovative MPEG-2 IBP editing technology, Pinnacle Liquid HD maximizes quality while minimizing system throughput requirements.
Pinnacle Liquid HD clients can function on the same Pinnacle Palladium Media
Server networking and storage infrastructure, now used for standard definition
production. This allows the practical transition to HD workgroup editing to be
easy and affordable. The HD option for Pinnacle Liquid editing systems will be
a simple, inexpensive software upgrade for many Pinnacle Liquid customers - only those looking for HD-SDI I/O or running on older platforms will need additional hardware.
Since 2001 Pinnacle has been a market leader in HD editing seats with its CinéWave editing systems for the Apple G4 and G5 platforms. Pinnacle's CinéWave will be enhanced with software version 4.6 featuring enhanced real-time HD and a host of new features. Pinnacle has also unleashed the fast 66 MHz bus interface on its PCI-X compatible TARGA Ciné Engine for stunning transfer speeds and superior HD performance on its CinéWave product.
PracticalHD for Networked Graphics
Pinnacle's new Deko3000 HD will make its debut at NAB 2004. The flagship offering of a family of HD CG systems, Deko3000 HD supports the complete palette of FXDeko II effects across all popular HD formats for the most demanding live production.
With the new Deko HD family live HD productions for sports, news and elections
will have access to the same networked operations and unlimited effects capability that has become the new mainstay of broadcast SD operations worldwide.
PracticalHD for Playout
With Pinnacle MediaStream's standard no-cost FreeHD on every channel, Pinnacle
offers small market stations practical, cost-effective HD playout options for
up-conversion and 16x9 integration based on MPEG-2 and MXF. The all new MediaStream 8000 on Palladium is the only server solution that provides simultaneous SD and HD output as a standard feature allowing SD and HD material to be played from the same playlist simultaneously. Now with advanced motion compensation, Pinnacle has enhanced its upconversion technology to deliver the best integrated up-conversion quality in the market.
