April 14, 2004
Toronto, ON - VFGadgets.com will launch a new rugged, portable and affordable dolly system called the Warrendolly, designed by Canadian cinematographer Peter Warren CSC, at NAB, the manufacturer has announced.
Also being previewed is Warren’s new “Shooter Scooter” (pictured) for obtaining moving shots.
The Warrendolly sets up in seconds without any tools. The standard Warrendolly travel kit includes a travel case (50" x 7"/ 127cm x 18cm), collapsible black or blue anodized super grade aluminum dolly, dolly handle, 6 track sections (44"/ 112cm each) for a total of 11 ft/3.35m track, 4 wooden risers (24"/ 60cm), 6 wooden risers (6"/ 15cm) and 10 wedges for leveling uneven surfaces. (The Warrendolly will also work with electrical conduit and the kit even includes 2 conduit joiners). The dolly is designed to fit the footprint of most tripods and the kit includes 3 bungee loops with hooks for securing the tripods with the dolly’s middle spreader.
The dolly wheels are made with Swiss bearings and offer an extremely smooth ride. The dolly itself weighs only 17.2 lbs (7.8 kg) and the whole kit including the travel tube weighs only 40lbs (18 kg) making it extremely portable and travel friendly. The Warrendolly is so rugged that you can stand on it, the manufacturer describes.
Warrendolly will launch with an NAB price of $1,835.00 USD - and will be going to regular MSRP June 1st of $2,250.00.
