nNovia QuickCapture Gathers Endorsements
March 31, 2004

San Jose, CA - Hitachi Denshi America Ltd. and nNovia, Inc. have successfully collaborated to integrate nNovia's analog digital video recorder, QuickCapture A2D, with the Hitachi family of professional analog video cameras. For the first time Hitachi analog cameras have a robust digital solution for their rapidly growing "tape-less", professional camera customers, the companies have announced.

After completing several months of stringent evaluation tests, Hitachi was quite pleased with the quality, performance and ease-of-use offered by the nNovia QuickCapture A2D.

"The single most important technical feature Hitachi considered in the evaluation of the A2D is the built-in Analog to Digital (A to D) converter which other products do not offer," stated Emilio Aleman, Product Manager of the Broadcast and Professional Division of Hitachi Denshi America. "Most camcorders from other manufacturers have this process built-in prior to delivering via Firewire as a form of digital video output. Acting as a system with the QuickCapture A2D docked onto the back of the camera, it is irrelevant where the A to D process takes place. The high quality A to D conversion process in the QuickCapture A2D makes pristine video rivaling that offered by the DV25 format quality."

Although Hitachi has manufactured and supported almost every tape format ever invented, the freedom from exclusive tape formats offered by QuickCapture A2D and its proprietary 'edit ready' technology is of utmost importance. QuickCapture A2D will record either raw digital or analog video from the camera directly to an internal hard drive. When used in conjunction with QuickCapture A2D, the Hitachi portable cameras can now be easily taken to the field and used to capture high-quality, 'edit ready' digital recordings.

nNovia and Hitachi will be co-marketing their products beginning at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas, NV April 19-22, 2004.
