RE:Vision Effects Upgrades Motion Blur

San Francisco, CA - ReelSmart Motion Blur version 3, a major upgrade to the popular plug-in for After Effects compatible applications (Adobe After Effects, discreet Combustion, Adobe Premiere Pro, Boris Red, Apple Final Cut Pro, Pinnacle Systems Commotion), has been released by RE-Vision Effects, the company has announced.
ReelSmart Motion Blur (RSMB) automatically tracks every pixel in a sequence and blurs based on calculated motion.
RSMB comes in regular and Pro versions, and both now support 8 and 16 bits per channel processing and take full advantage of multiprocessor machines. The software is available for both Mac OS X and Windows.
The Pro version adds support for foreground and background separation using a specified mask. RSMB Pro then uses proprietary filling and tracking techniques when working on the background layer, even when it is obscured by the foreground.
New features in RSMB Pro 3.0:
Motion blur can be applied using motion vectors from an external source, e.g., motion vectors from your 3D system.
Automatic scene change intelligence so that motion blur is not applied across a scene cut.
On problematic footage, give RSMB Pro tracking hints through the use of tracking point settings that can be tied to After Effects’ point tracker.
In addition you can give RSMB Pro hints by showing exactly where objects move from frame to frame using After Effects’ and combustion roto splines.
Per-pixel image tracking can be turned off and motion blur added based solely on the motion of tracking points and splines.
New features to both regular and Pro versions:
Cheap render-only licenses for render farms.
Motion sensitivity now varies smoothly rather than jumping in discreet steps.
Pricing:
ReelSmart Motion Blur is priced at $89.95.
RSMB Pro is priced at $149.95.
Upgrades from RSMB version 2 (either regular or Pro version) to the regular version of RSMB version 3 are free. Customers can install the new version by simply using the registration keys they already have.
Upgrades from the regular version to the Pro version 3 are available for $60.00.
Render-only licenses (for After Effects and combustion) are priced at $17.99 for RSMB and $29.99 for RSMB Pro.
A number of time-limited upgrade offers are also available. ReelSmart Motion Blur continues to be available for Apple Shake, Avid Systems, Discreet Systems and Digital Fusion.
