March 22, 2004
Tewskbury, MA - Avid Technology has announced extended Mac OS 10.3.2 (Panther) support for its Xpress DV, Xpress Pro, and Media Composer Adrenaline systems running on qualified dual- and single-processor G4 and G5 CPUs.
These releases also offer performance enhancements by adding support for the Ultra320 LVD (UL4D) SCSI storage controller for the Mac G5. Avid has also added Fibre-and Ethernet-attached Mac OS 10.3.2 client support on Avid Unity
MediaNetwork and Avid Unity LANshare EX systems. Software updates to Avid Xpress DV version 4.3, Avid Xpress Pro version 4.3, Media Composer Adrenaline version 1.3, and Avid Unity version 3.4 are currently available
for download from the Avid website.
"We're pleased to further extend Panther support to a wider range of Mac
customers. With these updates, video and film editors can use our
industry-standard Mac-based Avid tools on a range of qualified Power Macs
and PowerBooks with the latest OS and the highest-performance SCSI storage,"
said Charlie Russell, senior manager of product marketing for Avid. "In
addition, by adding support for OS 10.3.2 in our Avid Unity product line, we
continue to optimize our offerings for high-performance collaborative
