Pinnacle Systems CinéWave 4.5 Delivers Maximum Real-Time

Mountain View, CA - Pinnacle Systems, Inc. has announced availability of CinéWave 4.5, the new version of its standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) solution fully qualified by Apple for Final Cut Pro 4.
CinéWave 4.5 features new real-time HD capabilities, advanced 24-bit multi-track hardware enhanced audio support, desktop mirroring for multiple programs such as Apple Shake, and full support for Apple RT Extreme, the manufacturer describes. Pinnacle has also unleashed the screaming fast 66 MHz bus interface on its PCI-X compatible TARGA Ciné Engine for stunning transfer speeds.
The TARGA Ciné Engine delivers guaranteed real-time performance for SD and HD to modern Power Macs. In addition, it offers exclusive CinéWave features including mixed formats within a timeline, 16-bit video, guaranteed support for up to five uncompressed real-time streams with multiple effects, real-time native RGBA support, real-time animation codec support, real-time HD (16:9) pan and scan downconvert with keyframeable controls to uncompressed SD (4:3), simultaneous live SD and HD outputs, and more. The enhanced TARGA Ciné Engine also means users can now harness the full horsepower of their dual processing G5 with a 66 MHz bus interface.
Using CinéWave 4.5 on the latest dual processing Macintosh G5 gives editors the capacity to image correct uncompressed HD images in real-time with simultaneous SD downconvert. CinéWave's new, fully keyframeable real-time HD video controls include: phase for color adjustment, setup for adjusting black range, video levels for adjusting brightness, and chroma level for adjusting saturation.
Beyond video, CinéWave now offers top quality, hardware-enhanced audio features with full support for 24-bit multi-track audio. This enables users to take maximum advantage of Steinberg Nuendo for high quality audio mastering while simultaneously monitoring full quality SD and HD video.
A new DupliCiné application enables users to select all or part of their desktop for viewing on NTSC, PAL and HD monitors. DupliCiné is application independent and provides real-time SD and HD viewing of key tools like Photoshop and Apple Shake. DupliCiné is a powerful complement to the RAM preview CinéWave has always offered for combustion, After Effects, and Commotion Pro.

The CinéWave 4.5 software upgrade and the new powerful 66 MHz TARGA Ciné Engine are available immediately. The CinéWave 4.5 download including DupliCiné is available to current CinéWave 4 owners. Owners of versions prior to CinéWave 4 can purchase a CinéWave 4 software upgrade for $295 (US suggested retail price) from retailers. 33 MHz TARGA Ciné Engines can be upgraded to 66 MHz for just $295 (suggested retail price within U.S.).
