Camplex Unveils Coax/Triax System for Consumer Cams
March 08, 2004
Emporia, KS - Camplex Corporation has announced the introduction of its new PRO-X1, calling it the world's first coax / triax camera adapter system produced specifically to enhance the production capabilities of prosumer camcorders.
When interfaced with PRO-X1 systems and a small production switcher, prosumer camcorders can then be used not only for live multicamera studio work; but also utilized for previously unheard of live, multicam shoots in the field at distances up to 3,000 ft. between the remote camcorders and the director's control center. Using a single 75 Ohm cable the PRO-X1 delivers the camcorder's video, program audio and intercom signals to the production control center; and intercom and tally signals along with safe operating power out to the remote camcorder.
PRO-X1 features its own two-wire intercom system complete with headsets and push-to-talk switch. Multiple systems can be daisy-chained together for bi-directional communication between director and all camera operators. If the user prefers, other commercial intercoms can be easily interfaced with the system.
PRO-X1 is priced at $3,495.
