March 01, 2004
Secaucus, NJ - Panasonic will showcase the AJ-PCD10, a five-slot P2 drive designed for rapid ingest of DVCPRO or DVCPRO50 resolution video into nonlinear editing or server systems, at NAB 2004, the company has announced.
The P2 drive is designed for high-speed file transfer into servers or an NLE, and also enables direct access to the contents in the P2 cards. It offers a high-speed USB 2.0 interface to connect to the host computer, and through that computer to a television station’s local area network (LAN).The DVCPRO P2 product family includes the AJ-SPX800 camcorder, AJ-SPD850 studio recorder, and AJ-P2C004 4GB and AJ-P2C002 2GB capacity P2 cards*.
The AJ-PCD10 card drive will be available in May at the suggested list price of $2,500.
* Capacity on the P2 card indicates raw data capacity. Formatted data capacity will be less.
