Azden Updates Pro Field Mixer, Adds UHF Receiver
February 25, 2004
Franklin Square, NY - Azden Corporation has introduced a number of new and enahnced products, including a portable, two-channel field mixer, a powered speaker system, and a new AC powered true diversity UHF receiver.
The FMX-20 mixer (pictured) is designed for the professional videographer, the manufacturer reports. The small (3.75" x 1.625" x 5"), all metal, battery operated (single 9V) mixer can be attached directly to a camera with provided Velcro or belt-worn using the included three-position belt clip.
Newly added features include special circuitry for an improved signal-to-noise ratio, a 3-step LED array for easy signal monitoring, a 12V DC input for externally powering the mixer, a switchable input limiter to reduce the possibility of overload distortion and a channel-addressable Ľ" monitor headphone jack with its’ own level control. The FMX-20 also features 2 balanced XLR mic inputs, 2 channel-addressable balanced XLR line-level outputs with level controls, a stereo mini-jack (3.5mm) output and a POWER On/Off/Low Battery LED indicator.
The APS 25 Speaker System features four separate audio inputs, two of which are for modular, user-installable, wireless microphone receivers – VHF (30 channels available), UHF (63-channel switchable) or Infrared (2 channels available). The other inputs are for a wired microphone and a wired line output device such as a CD player. All four inputs have their own volume control so that they can be perfectly mixed together. The dual voltage (110V / 220V AC switchable) speaker also features a line-output for multi-speaker applications, a variable high-cut control for reducing feedback, a master volume control and Auto ON/Off circuitry. In addition to the included wall-mounting bracket, the APS 25 Speaker System can be mounted on any mic stand – either vertically or horizontally.
Designed for small room/crowd installations, the APS 25 Speaker System gives the installer the ability to have the right system for almost any situation. The wireless systems can be addressed by either body-pack lavaliere mics or handheld mics. By attaching one of Azden’s plug-in transmitters to the output of the house mixing console, the house feed can be sent to any number of speakers wirelessly. The simple plug-in receivers allow anyone to add or change wireless receivers easily – without tools.
Housed in a rugged, metal, half-rack sized enclosure, the 511DRH true diversity UHF receiver features 63 user-selectable UHF frequencies in the 794-806MHz band. Compatible with all of Azden’s other 63-channel equipment, the 511DRH features twin LED indicators that show antenna reception and signal strength as well as LED indicators for audio signal strength. Channel selection and Power On/Off are front-panel mounted while the rear panel has the XLR balanced and Ľ" unbalanced output connectors, a variable squelch control, a variable output level control and two BNC antenna connectors.
The 511DRH replaces the 411DRH; it has the same MSRP of $475.00 and will be available for dealer shipments in April. Also available beginning in April, the Azden APS 25 Speaker System is priced at $199.95 for the speaker only while one-channel wireless systems start at $399.00. The FMX-20 field mixer replaces the FMX-2 while maintaining the MSRP of $350.00 and will be available beginning in March 2004.
