Panasonic Unveils New DVR
February 16, 2004
Mississauga, ON - Panasonic Canada has introduced a new Digital Video Recorder (DVR) WJ-HD316 with live camera control. The DVR offers the sharpest images, easy PC compatibility, large data storage and the ability to view up to 16 live cameras at once, the manufacturer reports. The WJ-HD316 is a 16-channel model and is the first of the WJ-HD300 series. The DVR is a versatile security option for any business owner, and may be adapted for production applications.
The WJ-HD316 can control 16 live cameras at once, more if additional units are networked together. The DVR offers a 10Mbps transfer speed and system record rates of 60ips (field), 30ips (frame) and 120ibps (SIF). The record rate and the picture quality settings of each camera can be individually set.
The new DVR WJ-HD300 series prevents overwriting and protects the information for temporary data storage with HD Partitioning. Both RAID 1 and RAID 5 disc formatting is available. Once recorded, the data may be searched in a variety of ways - go to time and date, marking, motion detection, record list, filtering, and A/B repeat. The DVR includes built-in camera control, four audio input channels programmable to any video input and two local multi-screen outputs (one live, one PB menu).
The suggested retail price for the WJ-HD316 is $6,765 (CDN).
