JVC's DVD Recorders Powered by LSI Logic

Milpatas, CA - LSI Logic Corporation announced that JVC (Victor Company of Japan, Limited) has selected its DiMeNsion single-chip DVD recorder system processor for its latest line of single- and combination-drive DVD recorders, DR-M1, DR-MF1, DR-MV1, and DR-MH5.
JVC adopted DiMeNsion processors for their market-leading features and product flexibility, the company announced, which allowed JVC to deliver a variety of products, such as standalone DVD recorders, combination VHS/DVD recorders, and combination hard disk drive (HDD)/DVD recorders. The products are expected to be available in Europe (DR-M1 and DR-MV1) and Japan (DR-MF1 and DR-MH5).
The JVC models record on DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD-R disks in DVD-Video or DVD-VR formats, and play DVD-Video, DVD-VR, VCD, JPEG and a variety of audio formats. These latest JVC models are also equipped with Direct Digital Dub technology that simplifies the transfer of personal digital content from a camcorder to DVD over FireWire, with one-touch control via a single remote.
The JVC combination HDD/DVD recorder model (DR-MH5, with a built-in 120 GB hard disk drive) is ideal for consumers seeking all-in-one home entertainment device because it makes it easy for consumers to manage, playback and archive a variety personal content in the comfort of the living room.
Based on the flexible LSI Logic DoMiNo architecture, the DiMeNsion family is comprised of the industry's first single-chip DVD recorder system processors that reduce cost, design complexity, and time-to-market through its high level of system integration, and delivers a rich feature-set and high-quality video.
