Avid Updates Xpress Pro for Mac and Windows

Tewksbury, MA - Avid Technology has released Xpress Pro 4.1.1, updating its nonlinear editing software by adding Apple OS X Panther/G5 compatibility and other fixes and enhancements.
The new version adds support for Mac OS X 10.3.1 on Apple's dual 2.0 GHz G5 systems (Mac OS X 10.2.8 is supportedon all other Mac models).
It also addresses issues related to Mojo DNA hardware (Mojo Digital Nonlinear Accelerator brings real-time effects, real-time DV input and output and professional analog-to-DV media conversion to Avid Xpress Pro and other software), such as component output, audio capture when video is set to DV 25, illegal black levels in PAL when switching modes and hanging when using some external DV devices.
Avid Xpress Pro software offers 24 audio and video tracks (unlimited through nesting), enhanced titling, JKL edit, trim and machine control, and 2D and 3D OpenGL-based effects. Included with Xpress Pro is Avid IllusionFX, Image Stabilization, Pan and Zoom, the FilmMaker's Toolkit, Sonic ReelDVD, Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 Compression Suite, Boris Graffiti and Profound Effects Elastic Gasket software.
Registered users of Avid Xpress Pro qualify for the version 4.1 software update, availabale via download. It includes the v4.1 application for Windows XP or Mac OS X, several README files, and installation instructions. An Avid Xpress Pro dongle is necessary to enable the v4.1 software.
Current manufacturer suggested list pricing for Avid Xpress Pro Software is $1,695; the Avid Xpress Pro Upgrade (from Avid Xpress DV) is $295. The Avid Mojo DNA price is $1,695. Avid Xpress Pro 4.1.1 is available now for Mac OS X and Windows.
