RE:Vision Effects Adds Multiprocessor Support to Effects Software

San Francisco, CA - RE:Vision Effects has released upgrades for Twixtor and Twixtor Pro, the retiming solution, RE:Flex, the warping and morphing solution, and ReelSmart Motion Blur, the solution for adding motion blur as a post-process.
Most notable among the enhancements, the company describes: all three products now see significant speedups on multiprocessor systems and the Macintosh versions of all products contain G5 optimizations (in addition to previous Altivec optimization).
Twixtor is a plug-in tool to speed up, slow down or frame rate convert image sequences with visually stunning results. In order to achieve its unparalleled image quality, Twixtor synthesizes unique new frames by warping and interpolating frames of the original sequence, employing RE:Vision Effects' proprietary tracking technology that calculates motion for each individual pixel.
RE:Flex is a free-form warping and morphing solution that creates visually stunning morphs and warps with an easy-to-use interface. Using proprietary tracking software, RE:Flex is the first morphing solution to combine hand feature-matching with automatic image registration. ReelSmart Motion Blur applies more natural-looking motion blur with no effort by automatically tracking every pixel.
The versions updated are the Shake versions and the After Effects compatible plug-in versions that work within After Effects, combustion, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro and Commotion.
Features for all three product updates:
Multiprocessor support added. Users will see a significant speedup on multiprocessor machines.
G5 optimization added for Mac versions of the products (in addition to Altivec support added in previous updates). Updates for Mac versions only available for Mac OS X.
Twixtor and Twixtor Pro bug fixes and feature enhancements:
Current version is 3.2 for both the After Effects-compatible and Shake versions.
Tracking problems have been fixed in certain cases when using layer separation in Twixtor Pro (both AE compatible and Shake versions).
Frame-rate conversion within combustion 3 now works properly.
Shake plugin has additional fixes:
Fixed a bug where motion blur was not added when speeding up clips.
Fixed a bug where garbage frames could be produced in certain circumstances when working in 16 bits per channel.
Fixed a bug that caused the first frame to come out black in some situations.
Fixed a bug that caused seemingly random crashes.
RE:Flex bug fixes and feature enhancements:
Current version is 2.3 for both the After Effects-compatible and Shake versions.
Due to the nature of the warping algorithms, users will see the most benefit of MP support on an MP machine when "Accumulate Folds" for RE:Flex is checked.
Fixed a bug that caused RE:Flex to crash when spline vertices were too close to each other.
For combustion 3, added support for more interactivity. When combustion's "Feedback" button is checked, RE:Flex now pays attention to combustion's "Degradation Timeout (ms)" setting in the "Behavior" preferences when users scrub plugin settings or drag spline points in the interface.

ReelSmart Motion Blur bug fixes and feature enhancements:
Current version is 2.1 for the After Effects-compatible version and 1.9 for the Shake version.

Updates for the products are free for previous owners of Twixtor version 3, RE:Flex and ReelSmart Motion Blur.
