Canopus Unveils EDIUS 2.0
December 11, 2003

Los Angeles, CA - Canopus Corporation announced EDIUS 2.0, an upgrade to the nonlinear editing application released earlier this year, will be available in January.

EDIUS 2.0 features MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 editing and support for OHCI-compliant FireWire hardware. Editors can now edit, mix and output DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and uncompressed video with true real-time, render-free operation.

EDIUS 2.0 offers real-time, multi-format, multi-track editing using a Windows XP-based desktop or laptop computer with an OHCI-compliant
FireWire interface. Canopus is also bundling Inscriber TitleMotion with EDIUS 2.0 for creating superior graphics, video titles and motion
effects.

While EDIUS 2.0 works with any OHCI-compliant system, it is optimized for
Canopus's DVStorm, DVRex RT and DVRaptor RT2 series of nonlinear editing
solutions, providing additional realtime, render-free operation working with
DV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and uncompressed video.

EDIUS integrates Canopus's proprietary Effects Technology to provide editors
with an advanced level of artistic creativity. EDIUS offers 27 realtime
video filters, including White/Black Balance, Color Balance, High Quality
Blur and Region. EDIUS also features a selection of high-quality realtime
video keyers, such as Chroma Key and Luma Key, for use in compositing
effects, as well as a fully customizable 2D/3D Picture-in-Picture effect.
All EDIUS effects are easily adjustable and may be combined to produce
hundreds of customizable effects.

EDIUS offers sophisticated bin folder structure and search capabilities for
enhanced clip organization and management, the ability to remap missing or
moved clips within a project for easier updating, and enhanced timeline
management features, including batch delete. EDIUS also supports 32-bit
uncompressed video with alpha channel, allowing editors to insert clips made
using applications, such as Ulead COOL 3DTM, directly onto the video
track and play back in realtime.

EDIUS includes Xplode for EDIUS and EDIUS FX, Canopus's advanced realtime 2D
and 3D video effects engines, and ProCoder Express - EDIUS Edition, for export to MPEG-1, MPEG-2, QuickTime RealVideo and Windows Media formats, in addition to Canopus' own DV AVI format.

EDIUS 2.0 will be available January 2004 for a suggested retail price of $599.
Registered users of EDIUS 1.x can upgrade to version 2.0 for $199.
Registered users of EDIUS LE can upgrade to version 2.0 for $299.
