Algolith to Showcase New Plug-ins for After Effects 6.0
December 03, 2003

ontreal, QC - Algolith Inc., a provider of digital image processing plug-ins for the film, post-production, and video industries, has announced availability of its Algolith Plug-ins for After Effects 6.0, Adobe's compositing and visual effects software.

Algolith Plug-ins integrate seamlessly with After Effects 6.0, supporting all the power of the engine while providing operators with a familiar,
established user interface, the manufacturer describes. The new plug-ins allow digital artists to scale, de-interlace, anti-alias, and noise reduce DCT-compressed material such as DVDs and DV effectively and efficiently.

Algolith Plug-ins currently available for After Effects:

Adaptive De-Interlacing (ADI) for mixing video interlaced images with
progressive scan CG or film. ADI uses advanced edge-direction-based motion
estimation and adaptive interpolation techniques.

Algolith Anti-Aliaser (AAA) for removing "jaggies," which are especially
apparent on poor video images or low-resolution CG. AAA is a great
companion to ADI. It minimizes jaggies using fully adaptive directional
interpolation techniques and intermediate bidirectional adaptive
filtering.

Content Adaptive Scaling (CAS) with aspect-ratio conversion for exceptional
up/downscaling of CG, SDTV, HDTV, or film formats. CAS provides image
scaling with emphasis on natural picture sharpness, minimal edge
interpolation ringing, and self-adjustment of filter coefficients. It
particularly shines when used with high-resolution pictures.

3D Dynamic Noise Reducer (DNR) for stunning Gaussian noise reduction, and
3D MPEG Noise Reducer (MNR) for cleaning up any compressed image. These two
exceptional noise reducers are 3D (spatial and temporal) noise-reducing
nodes used to remove low light and MPEG noises, as well as to block
artifacts that tend to be apparent with DCT-based compression schemes such
as MPEG2 and DV images.

Algolith Plug-ins can be purchased from any Algolith reseller, and are
available. Pricing for GUI licenses ranges from USD $195 to $495, with discounts of up to 20 percent available with bundle ordering.
