Imagine Releases Macintosh Digital Video Logging Software
November 15, 2003
Carmel, IN - Imagine Products announces availability of DV Log-X. A new Mac OS X Cocoa application, DV Log version X is used to index and catalog video from a FireWire (IEEE 1394) camera or deck in preparation for editing, archiving or sharing.
DV Log-X is specifically designed for users of Final Cut Pro, Media100, Adobe, Accom andAvid editors. It is especially helpful in long form projects, transcriptions, and extracting frames for printing or PowerPoint presentations, the manufacturer desribes, saving time and hard disk space, and freeing the editor equipment for revenue producing activities.
DV Log-X directly controls the deck transport functions for detailed video logging without pre-digitizing. Alternatively, use the DV-Scan clip detection feature for automated high-speed indexing of an entire tape in just minutes. The software allows transcriptions and unlimited clip notes with 'on-the-fly' spell checking. It marks timecode, grabs JPEG thumbnails, sorts and prints storyboards. Mark the best shots for batch capture lists or printing.
Unlike competitive applications, DV Log-X doesn't require pre-digitizing of cumbersome QuickTime files. The logger extracts crisp, clean JPEGs and clip timecodes of video 'on-the fly'. It can be used in the field to grab clips right off an IEEE1394 enabled camera for immediate annotation and access.
The easy to use floating video Monitor-Controller puts you in charge of the logging process. It features familiar commands including Jog and Shuttle, and short-cut keys for each. Unlike most editors, timecode is constantly displayed, and you can re-position the controller anywhere on the screen.
The price for the DV Log-X software is $199US and is available directly from the company website. It requires OS X 10.2 or higher with built-in FireWire.
