MacroSystem Certifies QuickCapture for Casablanca

San Jose, CA - nNovia Inc. and MacroSystem AG have announced that nNovia's QuickCapture portable IEEE-1394 DV-to-Disk recorder has been certified for use with Casablanca editors.
In a letter of compliance delivered to nNovia, MacroSystem acknowledged "that nNovia's QuickCapture digital video recorder has been found to be compliant with the MacroSystem family of Casablanca digital video editors. This has been verified through extensive testing by MacroSystem AG in Wetter, Germany." Jeff Richey, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for MacroSystem US added, "MacroSystem and nNovia have been working together to bring better digital video solutions to their customers."
QuickCapture supports the complete AV/C protocol, which allows it to instantly and seamlessly connect to any Casablanca system. It is available in 40-GB, 60-GB, and 80-GB models, providing up to six hours of total recording time for NTSC or PAL material. "QuickCapture brings a new level of convenience to Casablanca users," explained Rob Caldeira, President of nNovia. "It is now possible to plug a 'tapeless VTR' directly into one of the Casablanca NLEs and have immediate access to your footage." nNovia has added a special "Casablanca" section to its Web site containing application notes and tips to assist users as they begin using these products together.
