October 10, 2003
Secaucus, NJ - Panasonic Broadcast's new LCD TFT monitor, the BT-LH900, an 8.4" HD resolution flat panel, is now available. It has support for 16 x 9 and 4 x 3 images.
At 2.5" thin and 4.4 pounds, theBT-LH900 was engineered to meet the requirements of on-the-go high definition and standard definition production, the company reports. The 8.4" monitor is equipped with manual controls--until now only available on CRT monitors--useful in video production and broadcast applications.
The BT-LH900 reproduces high fidelity EBU color space specification images, making them suitable for direct replacement of broadcast-grade CRT displays.
The unique CineGamma correction circuit provides accurate in-field exposure when pre-viewing the low-contrast "FilmRec" mode of the Panasonic VariCam, and its built-in Waveform Monitor overlay permits easy video level monitoring.
The BT-LH900 offers a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees horizontally and vertically, and it can display 1080/24PsF, 1080i, 720P, 576i, 576i and 480i video format inputs. The 12-volt DC-powered monitor provides two SDI inputs (auto HD/SD detection), and component / composite inputs for easy SD field monitoring.
In high definition mode, the unit offers 16:9 display of wide-screen images, and provides RS-232C control and a GPI terminal for remote control. The monitor's control section can be separated from the display for mounting on the side, top or bottom of the display, and the optional BT-MA900 Rack Mount Kit allows for side-by-side mounting with a vertical tilt mechanism to maximize the sightline in a monitor wall configuration.
Other professional features include Blue-only and Frame markers; a Pop-In 4 x 3 "focus mode" combined with adjustable video peaking ideal for critical focus check; independent, front-panel controls for brightness; contrast; chroma; and a tally display.
The BT-LH900 offers low power consumption of 20 watts, and is equipped for both DC and AntonBauer Gold battery mount operation. Attaching the optional AntonBauer SPS-60 AC Adaptor to the rear panel, AC Power can be utilized. Using the adaptor's DC output, two BT-LH900s can be powered from a single AC source.
The BT-LH900 is available at suggested list price of $6,000. The BT-MA900 Rack Mount Kit is available at a suggested list price of $550. A custom adjustable mounting arm for on-camera use is also available at a suggested list price of $295
