FOCUS Enhancements Acquires DVUnlimited

Campbell, CA - Focus Enhancements.has acquired the assets of DVUnlimited, a privately held, sole proprietorship that offers digital video (DV) file and standards conversion software.
DVUnlimited, based in Budapest, Hungary, was acquired with cash and stock. Current products include the award winning aDVanced DV PAL/NTSC Converter, aDVanced DV File Converter, and aDVanced DV file converter Pro that are used in broadcast, post-production, and prosumer applications. Attila Mezei, DVUnlimited's founder and president, will join FOCUS Enhancements effective immediately.
DVUnlimited's conversion software will be integrated into FOCUS Enhancements' Direct To Edit (DTE) Technology family of products, which includes the FireStore DV Disk Recorder that allows video, audio and timecode to be recorded directly in native file formats to removable FireWire disk drives. FireStore currently supports NLE file formats such as DV-OMF for Avid Xpress DV, QuickTime for Apple Final Cut, AVI 2 for Adobe Premiere, Canopus AVI, and Matrox AVI.
In addition to complementing FireStore, DVUnlimited's software includes support for files acquired with other non-DTE compliant recording or mixing products. With DVUnlimited's software, files can be converted to the necessary NLE file formats after acquisition either on a capture station or personal computer.
