Laird Creates Editing Solutions With HP

Las Vegas, NV - Laird Telemedia announced a new relationship with HP to provide editing solutions for freelance and professional videographers. Both Laird and HP plan to market Avid Xpress DV, PRO & MOJO certified workstations with Laird's PROBAY DV media converter built in.
The PROBAY is an analog-DV-analog media converter, designed to provide all the features of Laird's well-known DV media converters in a 5.25-inch computer drive bay enclosure. Housed in the new DVMOD technology, PROBAY features easy-to-use front-panel controls, high-quality signal processing, and RS170A SCH stable video output compliant to SMPTE/EBU broadcast standards. The drive simply plugs into a standard drive power connector. The PROBAY is designed to convert component, composite, YC, and XLR balanced audio to DV.
Laird plans to exhibit the solution with HP at trade shows and events beginning with the Wedding and Event Videographers Association (WEVA) Expo, August 26-27 in Las Vegas. The relationship combines HP's workstation innovation with Laird's leadership in the broadcast video industry, providing a true win-win for broadcast professionals worldwide.
