Aurora Announces Igniter Drivers fo FCP 4
June 27, 2003
Sterling Heights, MI - Aurora Video Systems has released a new software driver that allows its IgniterX video capture and editing solutions to support Final Cut Pro 4's RT Extreme engine, for render-free playback of effects in real time, as well as a virtually unlimited number of video streams.
Igniter features I/O options for composite, S-Video and RCA audio; upgrades to SDI and component I/O are available.
IgniterX is custom desiged for Quicktime and Mac OS, seamlessly integrating with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier, After Effects, and Videoshop, providing ease of use and tightly integrated controls over the digitizing and playback drivers. See our FAQ for hardware requirement guidelines.
With high quality variable-compression-rate video capture and playback, Aurora's IgniterX is a companion card for Final Cut Pro. The IgniterX product line offers leading data rates and unparalleled compression ratios while retaining unmatched image quality when working offline, the manufacturer describes. Full-screen effects can be applied in real time for both offline and online editing environments. Each card supports integrated I/Os for all digital and analog online formats, so there is no need for editors to invest in external converters that can degrade image quality.
With the introduction of Apple's new PowerMac G5 computers, Apple has created two new motherboards for use in these computers: the first uses the standard PCI bus for expansion cards; the other uses the updated PCIX expansion bus.
All Igniters are compatible with the first type of PowerMac G5 system that uses the standard PCI expansion bus.
Additional testing needs to be done to ensure full compatibility with the G5 processor, the company reports.
Aurora Video Systems' software driver is available now.
