Abakus Compact Wide Angle 4:1 Zooms for Lipstick Cameras

Burbank, CA - 16x9 Inc. announces the availability of two new Abakus Compact Wide Angle zooms: the 3-12mm 4:3 Wide and 3.5-14mm Anamorphic Wide.
These new SD lenses are ideal for use with three-chip, 1/3 or 1/2 C-mount lipstick-type cameras from makers such as Sony, Hitachi and Panasonic.
Measuring just 107mm long by 42mm maximum diameter, the compact lenses feature integral motors for remote control drive of zoom, focus and iris. Both lenses offer a maximum aperture of f/2.8, focus to 500mm from the lens front and share a 102-26 picture diagonal. A separate motor drive control box with cable is also available.
The unique Anamorphic Wide optically allows 4:3 cameras to automatically take 16:9 images while retaining full resolution, the manufacturer describes. This lens offers a horizontal focal length range of 2.75mm to 11mm and a vertical focal length range of 3.5 to 14mm.
Those with ½-inch cameras will be pleased to note that Abakus offers a 1.33 Range Extender that permits the lenses to be used on suitable 1/2 C-mount cameras.
