Miranda Spins-off Algolith
May 30, 2003
Montreal, QC - Christian Tremblay, founder and former president of Miranda Technologies, is heading up Algolith Inc., a new company offering video processing algorithms, which will officially launch at InfoComm 2003.
The new company, with Tremblay as its president and CEO, was created through the spinoff of Miranda Technologies’ algorithmic group. Its executive management includes founders of Miranda and asset management provider Keyvia Inc.
Algolith will be marketing its intellectual properties, or algorithms, in four areas: software, hardware, IP cores, and DSPs. The company’s first software package, Algolith, is an Apple Shake plug-in that deinterlaces, resizes, converts frame rate, and reduces noise in images of all kinds.
Algolith's first hardware implementation will be the DT-4102, the next-generation 3D noise reducer that builds on Miranda’s DT-4101, widely acclaimed by the "topsumer" market for its conversion and noise-reduction capabilities. Meanwhile, the company will look to strategic partnerships to extend the reach of its advanced algorithms through IP core and DSP implementations.
