Canopus Announces RES-150 and New RES Flex Series

San Jose, CA - Canopus Corporation's new real-time editing stations, the RES-150
and the new RES Flex Series, will be available later this month, the company has announced.
At the heart of the RES systems is the DVStorm2, with hardware
MPEG encoding and StormBay breakout box, delivering real-time
performance, including five simultaneous video streams, unlimited title and
graphics layers, 3D effects, MPEG encoding and DV output. The RES systems
also provide real-time color correction with waveform/vectorscope, variable
speed control, DV chroma key, auto white balance, region filter, and more. Canopus has also included a collection of editing, compositing, effects and authoring software
The RES-150 is powered by an Intel Pentium 4 3GHz processor with Hyper-Threading Technology, 1GB of DDR memory, a 40GB system drive and a 160GB disk array (for more than 10 hours of storage), an Nvidia GeForce4 dual-monitor capable video card, a Pioneer DVD-R/RW drive and an ADS Tech PYRO three-port FireWire card to allow capture from three cameras simultaneously.
The RES-150 comes with Canopus StormEdit, Canopus Imaginate, Adobe Premiere 6.5, Adobe After Effects 5.5, Canopus Xplode Professional 4.0, Canopus PhotoAlbum2.0, Sonic Foundry Acid Style and a full version of Ulead DVD Workshop with AC3 encoding.
Custom configurable workstations in the RES Flex Series can be ordered using a new configuration ordering system including component video I/O, faster processors, increased AV storage or more memory.
In addition to the real-time features and software found in the RES-150,
advanced technology, such as dual Intel Xeon processors with Hyper-Threading
Technology, Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 4.0 with Dolby Digital 5.1 channel
surround mixing, Canopus ProCoder video transcoding tool and Boris FX are
also included in the RES Flex Series, which starts at $6999.
The RES-150 starts at $5,499.
