Panasonic Adds To DVD Recorder Line-Up
May 01, 2003
New York, NY - Panasonic is introducing two new DVD recorders as part of its "DIGA" DVD recorder line.
Model DMR-E60, featuring an SD Memory Card slot, a PCMCIA slot and a DV input terminal, is designed for easy interaction with digital still cameras and digital camcorders.
The new DMR-E80 DVD/hard disk recorder features 80GB of built-in memory. It provides up to 104 hours of recording time on its hard drive and up to six hours on a removable 4.7 GB DVD-RAM disc (both in Extended Play mode.)
Panasonic is calling its new DVD recorder line "DIGA," a name derived from the words digital and gigabyte, reflecting both the nature of today’s media technology and the storage capacities of DVD.
Panasonic's new DVD recorders join models DMR-E50 and DMR-HS2 (reviewed in the current issue of Wedding & Event Videography (WEV) Magazine), which will continue to be marketed.
All models support DVD-RAM and DVD-R, and play back DVD Video, music CDs, video CDs, and CD-R/CD-RW MP3 formatted discs.
The DMR-E60 has an MSRP of $599.95; it is slated for May availability. The DMR-E80 has an MSRP of $699.95 and will be available in July.
