Technology Showcases, Equipment Exhibits Scheduled

Sarasota, FL - Two separate events of interest to professional videographers and media producers, both featuring technology exhibits and seminars, will be held by third-party vendors and equipment dealers in May; one event is planned for New York City, one will be held in St. Petersburg, FL.
Symco Inc., an independent manufacturer’s representative serving the mid-Atlantic and New England states, will hold its Technology Showcase 2003 on May 6 & 7, 2003.
Media Concepts Inc. of Florida, a professional video equipment and service provider, will hold its post NAB show Tuesday May 13, 2003.
Both events will feature exhibits, seminars and demos, along with door prizes and refreshments.
New York City
The Symco event will be held at the South Gate Tower Hotel in New York. On Tuesday, the event runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday until 4 p.m.
Symco Inc. president Frank Culotta extended the invitation to WEVA International members in the area.
The showcase, he said, includes leading manufacturers of professional video and related gear. The two-day event features an agenda of seminars and special activities. Companies included in the exhibit are:
Arion; Broadcast Pix; Fiber Options; Focus Enhancements; FSR; IDX; JVC; Liberty Wire & Cable; Luxeon USA; MacroSystem; Marshall; Reversa; Samsung; Soundcraft; SP Controls; Tech Electronics; Vision Controls; and Zenith.
St. Petersburg, FL
The Media Concepts event will be held at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
Media Concepts president Bob Skidmore outlined the agenda as including:
1-2:30pm and 6:30-8pm

3-4pm and 8-9pm
Richard D'Ambrise of Maxell "Maxell Answers Your Burning DVD Questions"
5-6pm
Jim Baker of Canon "Demonstration of the Canon XL-1S"
No admission fees are associated with the events, although RSVP is required.
