Bravo Disc Publisher with Mac Compatibility Now Shipping
April 24, 2003
Plymouth, MN - Primera Technology, Inc. is now shipping the Bravo Disc Publisher for Mac computers.
Bravo is designed for hands-free, automated production of up to 25 CDs or DVDs per job. An advanced robotic mechanism is used to transport discs to a built-in 52x CD-R recorder or a combo DVD-R/CD-R recorder.
The Bravo Disc Publisher ships with either LG Electronics' 52x CD-R drive or Pioneer's A05 drive that records DVDs at 4x or CDs at 16x (the A05 is a rewriteable drive).
After recording, discs are transported to the integrated printer and printed in full color at up to 2400 dpi resolution. Bravo prints directly onto the disc surface, eliminating the need for expensive and cumbersome hand-applied paper labels.
Bravo attaches to any Mac running Apple OS X. Bravo comes equipped with Charismac Engineering's Discribe V5.1 duplication software and Magic Mouse Production's Discus labeling software. Mac users can also design labels in any of their favorite graphic design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. and import them into the software. Because of its common USB and FireWire interfaces, Bravo may also be used cross-platform on Windows XP/2000-based computers with optional add-on software.
When a Bravo is purchased, either Mac or PC is chosen; cross-platform software is $299.
Two Bravo models are available:
* The Bravo CD Publisher with a 52x CD-R recorder is priced at US$1995 (MSRP).
* The Bravo DVD Publisher with Pioneer DVD-R/CD-R recorder is priced at US$2495 (MSRP).
A business card adapter kit is also available to copy and print 80mm mini-discs, rounded "hockey rink" mini-discs and business card shaped CDs. The Adapter Kit is priced at US$199 (MSRP).
