Classic HD Widescreen Super 8 Camera Announced

London, U.K. - Pro 8mm has announced the addition of the Classic 8 Wide Screen to its line.
Features of the camera include a new widescreen lens system that converts the standard aspect of Super 8, 4x3, to 16x9 for HD applications. 16x9 Widescreen Super 8 images can be transferred to a digital format 1 to 1 for an anamorphic standard definition master, the manufacturer describes, or images can be unsqueezed and matted in standard definition master.
The 16:9 lens option includes primes, zoom and zoom supported by 3x3 or 4x4 matte system. A 3x3 and 4x4 matte box serves as a physical support for the lens, more extensive focusing options as well as providing two filters and/or mattes.
The camera has a hammered bronze scratch resistant powder coat; external sync (24 or 25 fps) indicator; additional external switch for power zoom and exposure on the crystal version has been provided.
