i-O Display Intros High Resolution i-glasses
April 10, 2003
Las Vegas, NV - i-O Display Systems, displayed its i-glasses HRV Pro, a portable, wearable video headset that offers video resolution higher than a standard television. The new i-glasses HRV Pro uses two, 800 x 600 resolution micro displays and features Faroujda resolution doubling technology.
i-glasses HRV Pro are designed to accept either NTSC or PAL input from most any video source and then scales the image to a 800 x 600 resolution format. With 1.44 million pixels per display, the result is a high-definition giant screen image that is equivalent to a 70" monitor viewed from 13 feet.
Since i-glasses are designed to be portable and are worn by the user, they provide a great solution to many of the problems and limitations inherent with typical CRT monitors and LCD flat panel screens - especially in indoor or outdoor settings where ambient lighting, bright sunlight and unwanted reflections often impede viewing.
i-glasses HRV Pro features the latest in liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) micro display technology and state-of-the-art electronics. The end result is a lightweight (7 oz) pair of glasses where all of the components are imbedded within headset with no external hardware or control boxes. In addition to being compact and ergonomically designed, i-glasses utilizes a technically advanced optical system that is based on display technology used in modern military aircraft. As a result, i-glasses HRV Pro are compatible with nearly all individuals and most all corrective lenses.
i-glasses HRV Pro are available now; the suggested retail price is $1299.
