Avid Unveils Xpress Pro with Mojo
April 07, 2003
Las Vegas,NV - Avid Technology has announced Avid Xpress Pro with Avid Mojo, new nonlinear editing software and portable Avid Digital Nonlinear Accelerator hardware, called Avid DNA.
With Avid Xpress Pro software, Avid Mojo delivers true real-time video, film, and audio editing functionality, including DV and analog output, for both the Windows XP and Macintosh OS X platforms.
The system also includes support for 24p digital video projects, automatic expert color correction, and has the revolutionary ability to send uncompressed video over a standard FireWire cable.
Other Key Features:
* Advanced Editing and Effects
Avid Xpress Pro software offers 24 video and 24 audio tracks (unlimited through nesting), 2D and 3D OpenGL technology-based effects, enhanced titling, JKL edit, trim and machine control, extend & replace edit, and clip grouping and ganging features. Customers are able to customize keyboards, toolsets and almost every parameter of the interface. Additionally, Avid IllusionFX, Image Stabilization, Pan and Zoom, and the FilmMaker's Toolkit (Avid FilmScribe, Avid Log Exchange, Film Effects, Dupe Detection, and Script-Based Editing), as well as Sonic ReelDVD, Sorenson Squeeze 3.1 Compression Suite, Boris Graffiti, and Profound Effects Elastic Gasket software are included in every Avid Xpress Pro box.
* Automatic Expert Color Correction
Avid Xpress Pro software offers new innovations such as patent-pending OneStep AutoCorrect color correction, which allows editors to automatically color correct an entire sequence with a single click. It also leverages the Avid Symphony system's powerful real-time color correction tools by offering previous, current and next-frame windows, before-and-after split-screens, and patent-pending NaturalMatch technology with sophisticated vectorscope and waveform monitors.
* Advanced Software Experts
Avid Xpress Pro software includes powerful features such as DV Scene Extraction, OneStep Dynamic Storyboards, Quick Transitions, AutoSave, SuperBin and ExpertRender, enabling new and experienced editors to focus on the creative process, not on the technology.
* Powerful Film Support and High Quality Output
Avid Xpress Pro software supports 23.976 project types, as well as 35:1, 28:1P, and 14:1 offline film resolutions. It also supports the Panasonic AG-DVX100 24p camera and provides a 15:1s Avid offline resolution. In addition, native DV25 media can be transcoded into and mixed with the 15:1s offline resolution in the same timeline - all in real time. When used with Avid Mojo, Avid Xpress Pro software can scale from DV all the way to uncompressed SD formats, enabling editors to create higher-quality uncompressed graphics and titles on top of DV25 media.
Additional Avid Mojo functionality includes:
* Real-time DV output to tape with real-time 2D and 3D digital video effects
* DV25 to uncompressed SD input and output
* Real-time video monitoring
* Real-time analog-to-DV and DV-to-analog conversion
* Real-time uncompressed graphics and titles via analog output port
* S-video composite input and output
* Frame-accurate output to tape
* Multi-channel audio punch-in with low-latency monitoring
* 20-bit analog audio input and output
