"The 2011 CEA Competition allows you to enter as many of the 16 production categories as you chose. And you can submit up to two entries per category," said John Zale, WEVA's Director of Education. "Like last year, there are competition categories for Wedding Trailer, Wedding Demo, Concept Production, Theatrical Production and more. For 2011, new categories include Social Event Highlights and Corporate Event Highlights."
Winners to Be Announced at WEVA EXPO 2011
The 2011 Creative Excellence Award winners will be announced and displayed worldwide at the 21st Annual WEVA EXPO, which will be presented LIVE Online. And for the first time, Final Round judging in select categories will be done LIVE by attendees and professional bridal consultants.
WEVA developed and produced the WEVA iVideoShow, our industry's first-ever online conference and trade show last year. For WEVA EXPO 2011, the LIVE Online show dates have been moved to October 5-6, 2011 to accommodate new product introductions expected in September, and to incorporate new video IT that will allow attendees around the world to see and talk with each other (and with speakers & exhibitors) and share clips by using new LIVE one-on-one, and conference-style, video chat. There will also be multilingual translation for Conference sessions extending global participation.
Bridal Consultants to Participate in CEA Judging
"Being LIVE Online for WEVA EXPO 2011 is an exciting, 21st century breakthrough for the 21st Annual CEA Competition because for the first-time in the history of our industry all wedding and event production professionals on the planet can see the 2011 award-winners, not just those who are able to attend a physical-location event," Zale said. Even more exiciting is that new new IT tools will make it possible for all attendees, including professional bridal consultants, to participate in Final Round judging of select CEA categories.
Using separate data streams, WEVA will be able to show how the wedding consultants voted versus how video professionals voted and do it LIVE and then be able to conduct LIVE Online roundtable discussions about the voting using not just text-chat, but LIVE interactive video for bridal industry, and pro video industry participation worldwide. It's a breakthrough that's been in development by WEVA since last year's iVideoShow. And now it's bringing new eye-opening education to our industry, regardless of geographic borders."
The WEVA 21st Annual Creative Excellence Awards Competition categories welcome productions that cover weddings, social events and corporate work, including Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, class reunions, recitals, theatrical/stage productions, promotional videos, graduations, band performances, cheerleading competitions, memorial services, corporate training, anniversaries, christenings, charity events, and others. Each year, awards are presented to wedding and event production professionals nationally and internationally. Many are first-time recipients.
